A good quality suitcase is expensive, but it lasts longer
accordingly.
Transport - check if you're comfortable pulling the suitcase
without it turning over. It is important to make sure that its
wheels are located at the edges and not at the center, since a
bigger space between the wheels gives the suitcase more
stability.
Wheels – it is preferred that the wheels and bearings of the
suitcase will be made from a good (quality) material so it can
gain durability for a long time, and so you'll be able to carry
the suitcase comfortably and quietly. Silicon wheels last longer
than plastic wheels. Make sure that the wheels are internal and
won't stand out a lot from the suitcase (can cause problems).
Removable handle (telescopic) – the telescopic handle of the
suitcase should be internal, in order to handle some bumps (like
when loading to a car or a plane).
Quality of the fabric – the soft suitcases can be torn in the
conveyor belt, therefore there are two indications for choosing
a suitcase.
1. The higher density of the fabric fiber is, the stronger the
fabric is.
2. The number of the fabric, which indicates the thickness of
the fiber which is the component of the fiber, begins from 300
up to 1000. The thicker the fabric is, the stronger and heavier
it gets, but its tightness is damaged.
There are three kinds of fabrics for suitcases:
Nylon – advantage: light, waterproof. Disadvantage: likely to be
torn.
Polyester – advantage: not likely to be torn easily.
Cordura – advantage: can hardly by torn. Disadvantage:
relatively heavy.
Nature of the zipper – the durability and the nature of the
zipper is very important, and should be from a known company.
The thicker the zipper is, the longer he'll last. Coil strips
are important for those who travel a lot and tend to compress
his equipment into the suitcase.
It's recommended to purchase an expandable suitcase: its
flexibility allows it to add an amount of additional volume.
The weight of the suitcase is important especially when there
are weight restrictions for the suitcase. Therefore, look for a
light suitcase.
It's recommended to check for the duration of the warranty for
the suitcase. The longer the warranty is, the better.
Avoid buying a suitcase without warranty.
In many different airports, there is a nylon service for your
suitcase, in order to keep the suitcase in better condition. The
service costs money.
