Dress right, be sure to dress easy and comfortable (it's recommended to wear clothes that are made of natural fabrics). Tight clothes might block the blood flow to your feet and cause you to feel inconvenient, so in cases like that you should loosen the laces of the shoes. Enter your handbag a coat or a sweater because sometimes the temperatures in the plane get low.

Drink a lot of water during the flight, your skin might get dry due to the dry air in the plane. Avoid drinking coffee, tea or any other drink that contains caffeine. It is also recommended to drink alcohol or at least limit it to one drink only during the entire flight.

Enter your handbag some reading material such as a book, newspaper, crossword magazines or any other material that will help you pass the time during the flight.

It's recommended to eat a light meal before the flight. Big meals will only make you uncomfortable.

If you suffer from any kind of a health problems, or you need medications or any other medical means, don’t forget to put them in your handbag.

Contact lens owners should not wear them during the flight because the air in the plane is dry. Those who need glasses to watch television should make sure they bring it with them.

Night flights are always better, when you fly during the night, the fatigue does its work and you sleep better. Try getting a seat behind/near/in front of an emergency exit because you have a lot of room for your legs (you can't lean the seat forward due to security measures. In order to get a good place in the plane, you need to arrive to the airport at least two and a half hours earlier (before the time of the flight). Make sure you don’t have a baby besides you because then, you might not be able to sleep the entire flight. If you haven’t received a seat near the emergency exit, ask for a seat near the window and not near the pass, since everyone that passes through will bump into you. Under no circumstances accept a chair that doesn’t have the option to lean it backwards.

Before you enter the plane (and the long time sitting), wash your face, make all of your needs, and get ready for the long flight.

Before you sit down, take out of your handbag everything you'll need for the flight (book + sleeping equipment + medicines).

While you're sitting, take off your shoes and socks. Put one pillow on the wall (in case you sit near the window) and put the other one on the chair, and bring them together so you'll have a lot of area to sleep on, and then cover yourself with the blanket you were given. It's recommended to ask for the pillows and the blanket when you enter the plane.

For long flights (above 6 hours of flying- trans flights), you can take sleeping pills called Unisom, which you can buy without prescription. Do not take these pills in short flights; otherwise you will be sleepy when you land, for a few hours at least.

Move your feet and walk in the plane in order to avoid foot swelling, preventing blood clots in your veins and loosing tiredness. You should do it at least once an hour. You mustn’t put one leg over the other for a long time.

Sleeping equipment:

Inflatable pillow - the plane sits are not the most comfortable sits there are. Whoever trying to sleep during long flights, sometimes find himself moving from one side of the chair to the other side in order to find a good position for the body and the neck. The market has a lot of inflatable pillows which are intended for these purposes. There are also regular pillows and those with a shape of half a moon, which gives support for your neck. There are pillows made out of plastic but the best are made out of rubber.

Ear plugs during the flight, the noise inside the plane is almost unbearable, and it can get worse if you sit beside a family with a baby, which makes the noise even more unbearable. There are disposable ear plugs and there are kinds for multiply use.

Eyes cover - mask made out of cotton which prevents light exposure that comes from the windows or the light of your neighbor's seat. You need to take in account that inflatable pillows tend to inflate when the plane is high, so you should inflate them partially.

What do you do when your ears are clogged during the flight?

Avoid flying if you suffer from a cold or congestion in your nose, but if you still have to fly, you should take a medicine to reduce your congestion an hour before the takeoff and an hour before you land.

Avoid tightening your jaws during flight, because air pockets could cause you pain. Therefore, it is recommended to relax your jaws by moving them inside and outside every half an hour.

Yawning can open your Haustuachit channel and cause you pain.

Plug your nostrils, close your mouth and breathe lightly in order to release the pressure in your ears.

Whoever is in pain, should take a pill for it before he takes-off or land.

Drinking will cause your body to swallow, which will also release the pressure.

Put gums or candy into your mouth for the time of the take-off and the landing, it will easy the annoying pressure in the ears.

Use special ear plugs that have a mechanism for comparing pressures.
